New Transfer!
Hey! Hows it going?? This week was a good week as always. Not a ton of crazy cool stuff but transfers happened tuesday and I got my new companion Elder Robinson!! He is really nice and he is from South Jordan Utah. Likes to box and is really fun!! I had to say goodbye to my great friend Elder Skinner and also the other Elders, Elder Foutz and Elder Andersen. Super sad and I hope I get to see Elder Skinner again before he goes to Peru. Super cool and fun though this week but also a grind in a way. None of the people we regularly teach would answer their doors.
We knocked on a ton of doors and I think only 1 person answered. Kind of a struggle. We found new people this week which was fun and we are excited to teach them too. But all of our most progressing did not answer their doors so it was rough. Not only that but if you all remember Ramon, he returned from Mexico and we were so excited. We stopped by and all of the sudden, he told us to stop coming by because it was best for him to go back to Catholicism. He wasn't even the same person we knew before. So upset it was a tough thing to hear. Obviously, God has a plan but definitely rough to hear when it is not expected and he has a date to be baptized. It is all good though. We are going to grind this next week to get some things moving.
As I have mentioned in the past, this ward or branch is a little tough to handle. But we are going to try really hard to get more fellowship and work towards that aspect so our friends that we are teaching have someone to go to. It's tough but we will find out. This week as well I feel like my Spanish has been on fire. I don't know why but maybe it is just because I have to step it up a little but it is going really good right now. The area is a little weird with only me and my new comp but we get along great and I am excited to continue the work.
This week we also had interviews and I was asking the president a lot of questions and I did not get answers too. But the coolest thing I found or that we kind of discovered is that... When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he called 12 apostles. But what does that make him?? the prophet of the church does it not?? Now let's take what we have today, with our 12 apostles and our prophet. But... let's remember that the word apostle is a priesthood office. If you don't know what that is then don't worry about it but study it. The prophet of our church is not a part of the 12 apostles, but neither are his 1st and 2nd counselors. Those 3 are in the 1st presidency of the church. The prophet is acting in place of Jesus Christ as the head of the church. His counselors, well, think about the Godhead. Cool hu. We really have the church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I can testify of that and I know others can as well.
Thank you all for your love and support!! I got a couple straggler Christmas cards this past week or so and also some birthday cards and I loved em!! you all are the best. I hope you know that for real I loved every single card. So thank you all to my cousins and aunts and uncles who sent me some and some friends and neighbors back home. I loved them all. I love how supported i am from back home and it is amazing to have that little letter as well to look forward too around the holidays and such. I love you all so much and I hope you have a great week!!
