La Noche Internacional
Hey! Hows it goin??
This week was a good week, as always.
This week we saw some ups and downs and we are having a great time but not a ton of progression is going on. Candy and Kevin, 2 kids we are teaching, cancelled this week and Cristian is still slammed with work.
If you all remember Lupio, he came to sports night and has great fellowship now with la banda! Lots of Banda members have got new jobs and it's diminished a little but we are still holding out!! Anyways, lupio got hospitalized this week for tons of medical issues. It was so sad. He texted us asking for help and saying he needed to go to the hospital but we couldn't do anything because we are missionaries 😥. Don't worry we got the help he needed and he got released from the hospital 2 days ago! We are passing by in a couple days.
We had appartment inspections and they loved the cleanliness, again. We got an ant problem tho so we bought some liquid ant traps and now there's just piles of dead ants😂. We also had FANTASTIC weather this week! It was in the 80s and cloudy and we loved it. We still had to do lots of things indoor which sucked but I am so grateful.
On Saturday, the branch had a huge party called la noche internacional. Everyone here is from a different place, so they throw a huge party and there are tables for each place!! We had perú, mexico, guatemala, el salvadro etc. All different types of food and dances and singing it was SO much fun!! The branch here really is amazing. Even though there was some contention before, they really know how to throw a party!
On Sunday we met a homeless man that pulled up to the parking lot named segio. Crazy story is that the elders talked to him in Oxnard about a month ago and sent him over to us. He says he is a member but he is not haha. But, we brought him to church!! Haha he pulled up and we took him inside and stayed for the entire time. Apparently he has caused problems before here but we will see.
Today we did a really cool hike and crawled through a bunch of tunnels. Pics below
This week on... WhAt WE CoOkINg??
This week was bomb. We made...
Fresh Ground Beef Philly cheese stakes with a soft toasted bun. So good oh man.
I also made some bomb fettuccine Alfredo
For a quick thought, I was reading about God's love vs Laws. I found this quote from President Nelson. "Real love does not support self destructing behavior"
God's love does not justify sin yet his love is unconditional.
I will send more pictures from la noche internacional and such next wee as well, have to get them from others.
