The trenches
Hey! Hows it goin??
This week was a good week... as always
This week things picked up here. When we got here our english class was 1 person and he was a member. Now we have a solid average of 4 or 5 and we are getting up close to double digits!! Doesn't seem like a lot but for having 1 person come for about 6 months and that's it... I am really excited. Tony is one of them and he is one of the coolest people I have met. Only Mexican Construction worker I have ever met who doesn't do drugs or alcohol. He is our buddy.
With Gabriella, she has dropped off the face of the planet and we can't believe it. We have still seen tender mercies from the lord and we found a few more promising people!! I want to talk about 2 of em. The first one is Elias. We stopped by his house at random from a previous record and he totally welcomed us in. As we sat down, he expressed how stories and the world were changing and he didn't like it. He always believed in a God but watched the things of the churches change. We explained to him the church of Jesus Christ a little bit but Explained the Book of Mormon in depth to him and he was fascinated. Asked us for a book and told us to come back. Said he would give us food too haha. As my companion was bearing his testimony, My comp said he knew Christ lived and Elias said yes, in our hearts, and I said, no... He lives. He was crazy struck and asked for more info. I explained and I watched it click for him and it was a really cool experience to see him accept it and want more within seconds. The holy ghost told him not me, and I witnessed it
The next one is Gabino. We went up to the boonies of somis again looking for a referral. couldn't find his house and we drove down this long dirt road for a reason I don't know. Reached a house and I looked at my comp and said, we have to knock it. got out and we met Gabino, a 19 year old who doesn't know anything about God. We taught him prayer and he even prayed for us which was so cool. He knows the dialect of Zapoteco too.
We did service for an ex-military man this week and dug 4 foot trenches. Dad, even though the ground here is way better, the lawn paid off!!! hammered through it and had an awesome time. We will help him out again. Did some other service too. Another thing is someone we were about to start teaching died in a motorcycle accident. Pray for his family
