Thanksgiving

Image
Hey everyone, how is it going?? This week was awesome as well and we had Thanksgiving!! Sadly we did not get a meal from members in our ward but the English Elders hooked us up and someone from the other ward fed us. I am very grateful for that and I am very grateful for lots of things in my life. I thank you all for being supportive and reading my emails too!! This week was more work as always. We found someone named Angel and he is 13 and man is he ready to be baptized. His Grandma is a member but his family is not. He has a sister that is ready to be baptized too. Pretty freaking awesome. We just need some more church attendance and he is good. His parents want him to be baptized too which is weird because they arent members. He is super cool and he retains information very well. We are really excited. Another friend of ours named Ramon, which I found only 6 weeks ago, said he wants to get baptized but not until  after February 5th  because he is going to Mexico with his fa...

Transfers and beer

Hey everyone!! This week was a pretty good week let me tell you. This past week I received my new companion!! He is actually so awesome and we get along great. I stayed in Santa Paula as you all know as well. I am really excited for this transfer to continue. We seriously work so hard, we are teaching and stuff for probably 7 hours which is a ton because we have to be done by 9 as missionaries and also have to be inside here at 8 because it's a little gangster town if ya didn't know. We are working our butts off and it is actually super fun. It is an absolute grind and the hardest part is Spanish, no doubt. This transfer I will probably learn double the spanish that I did last time. Elder Skinner, my new Companion, is actually really really good at Spanish and he has only been out for as long as me. He had some really good trainers and I am really excited for what we can teach each other.   I got a church key this week This week was a grind to find and to get everything set....

Transfers and goodbyes

Hey everyone!! This week was another great week!!  This sunday , so yesterday, we got our transfer calls!! Both Elder Larsen and Elder Teichert are leaving and Elder teichert is going to be a zone leader!! Elder Larsen is training because we don`t have a lot of spanish Elders right now. He is pretty scared but we both know hes got it. I am staying in Santa Paula!! I will be here for another transfer and my companion will be Elder Skinner which he arrived the same day I did so we will see how that goes. I will tell you how it is next week because transfers happen tomorrow.  This week was pretty crazy. Last monday a man was getting into his car and we did the classic missionary approach and he said he talked with the missionaries before and started asking questions. We realized very quickly that this guy was not interested and he started to get pretty into it. He started making things up and he really believed that if there was a God then he would have to hate him for ever...

Planes and Man Eating Plants

Hey everyone!!! Things are still going super good!! Sorry I don't write a ton because I'm so used to the weird happening now it's normal. This week was great though!!! We had 3 exchanges this week. An exchange is where 2 companionships switch companions for the day. We had 3 so it was a little complicated but it all worked out. I will attach pictures bellow. You will see who I was with. The exchanges were super fun. I didn't have my trainer with me so it was only me and elder Larsen speaking Spanish. It was so cool though. We killed it, got tons of lessons set up everytime and had lessons in Spanish as well. So cool. During exchanges my comp Elder Larsen said its a must that we go out to eat. Everytime we went out to eat and he paid. What a guy This one restaurant was so cool!! So there's this little flight school here In Santa paula where people learn to fly, I'm going to come back and learn. But they built a restaurant right next to the run way so you see all...

Hey everyone!!! How is everyone doing!! This week once again was classic Missionary stuff. In my past emails I have included some like funny homeless people and I'm just going to stop because it happens like at least once a week. Someone homeless will come up and preach. No fingers and a vape and a bag over their shoulder. We give them stuff we have like water and peaches etc. It is really sad. We do our best. I did not get yelled at this week which is awesome though!!!   This week was super chill like I said, not much happened. We did lots of teaching. We had a lesson with Ramon and he is super super cool. We are trying to get more lessons with him but he is super busy. He has a daughter with epilepsy. He is so cool though. We want to meet more than once a week. He believes like everything we say too which is awesome.  We haven't visited pedro, but our friend roberto wants to get baptized, only problem is that he is in a wheelchair and we can't get him to church. Terri...
